APRIL 2010

April 19th, 2010  7:00-9:00 pm     Walkerton Could it Happen Again?
at the Loyalist College Alumni Hall

It's been almost ten years since seven people died and thousands became ill after drinking water from the municipal drinking water system in Walkerton. This tragedy is now part of Ontario's history... but could it happen again? What is being done locally to make sure it doesn't?

Bruce Davidson will speak about the legacy of Walkerton at Loyalist College on Monday, April 19 at 7:00 PM in the Alumni Hall. Davidson is the co-founder and spokesperson of The Concerned Citizens of Walkerton, a group that was founded in direct response to the tragic events of May, 2000.

"Bruce's compelling and informative presentation puts a human face on the tragedy that will forever change the way you think about Walkerton and even how your own drinking water is protected," says Keith Taylor, Source Water Protection Project Manager at Quinte Conservation. Tickets are available at the Quinte Conservation office
